Body transformation before/after Photos

We are taking pictures every week as we get fit! The body transformation pictures haven't gone up because it is hard to show the world something you are self conscious about (and trying to change). I am trying to muster up the courage to post them.... stay tuned to see when we do!

Also, I thought I might mention....I never really explained my "goal" for this whole 'get fit' project. I am not trying to get down to a certain weight, I am simply trying to fit back in to the "pre-pregnancy" jeans! And when I say "fit into them" I mean... be able to button them with out my love-handles spilling over the sides! I still have a way to go---I found out this morning! wah!

@ a stand still... wah wah

I feel like I need a jump start! The theory behind a cheat day is made up of 2 main ideas: 1 is that it helps you look forward to something through out the tough week of eating super clean. 2 is that it tricks your body when you eat a high caloric fatty diet for a day and then eat super clean the next several, it is supposed to help jump start your metabolism and what not... my husband could elaborate. But, I don't feel like the pizza, donuts, and strawberry lemonade did ANYTHING for me! I know it has only been 1.5 days back on the Healthy train...but I'm not feeling like I'm burning off much of anything. Working out would probably help....hummm....

Oh how I hate 100 Calorie snacks!

I'm Getting rid of my 100 Calorie snacks. I am normally completely against these types of marketing ploys, but they were an impulse buy- so I replaced my fiber bars with these 'slimfast' 100 calorie snacks. The problem... they are the size of my pinky finger and have 100 calories in them! I mean I could take the most caloric food in the world and package it to be 100 calories!...It might be the size of a pea, but hey! Just Think...I could eat a large apple or 3-4 clementines for that! The biggest issue is that they really aren't very good for you- but they are addicting because its sugary-chocolate! Ugh- *Time to replace them with better-filling foods!*

1st week done!

Successful first week! Jordan and I both lost a good amount of weight our first week! It will only get harder from here- as I know from past experience that when you are in a sense "cleansing" your body of old habits the first week, it comes off the fastest.

Today is our "cheat day"--- Looking forward to today helps get us through the week! :)

I want a REAL work out (away from the kids!)

I really want to work out! I want to go get on the stair climber or elliptical and sweat off some calories! (Zumba is great, but its still difficult to do every day with kids.)The problem: My JOB is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! Our YMCA doesn't offer day care, so there just isn't an EASY solution to take an hour to work out. Plus- even if I did have someone to watch the kids- I am obsessed with routine, so if I plan on working out Monday- Friday @ 9am and day care (or whoever) can't take them one day, I would probably end up quitting. (I should find a babysitter who can just pop in for an hour a day--- but I don't really know many people in our town yet, and high schoolers/ college age kids are busy during the day!) Ugh, I feel like I'm making excuses- but it just seems like such a hassle!!!!

I'm also finding out how important working out is for me, because I need so many nutrients (since I am still nursing Kobie.) Like today, I am a lot hungrier than normal, and even though I don't want to take in "extra" calories- I know I have to for her.

Update

I updated both my food log page and my workout page. You will see I eat almost the exact same thing everyday other than my supper. It just makes it easier to stick to my plan that way. I had a starting weight of about 195lb (down about 10lbs from my all time high of 205) and I would guess I am down to at least 190 already only 4 days in. Amazing how quick the water weight comes off when you start limiting your carbs. I am sticking with my bodybuilding style workouts + some extra cardio for now as long as the weight keeps coming off. If my weight stalls down the road I may switch my lifting style up for awhile to a more up tempo calorie burning type of workout. Also when the weather warms up I will work out outside about half the days pushing my new sled and throwing some tires around. Is winter over yet?

Food Logging

If you look at my food logs, you might notice that I am a creature of habit. Most days I eat the same few things for Breakfast, snacks, and lunch and then have something different for supper. This is what helps keep me on track- there is no guessing-or trying to figure out what I am going to make at the last second.

Today we went grocery shopping and I noticed something that I would like to change about what I stock up on....more on this later!

Hey, I'm Jordan

I am Jordan and I am getting in shape with my beautiful wife Brittni. I am actually already sort of a fitness junkie and work out 5-6 times a week, but I really struggle with keeping a healthy diet. I LOVE burgers, pizza, ribs, and pretty much anything else that is terrible for me. I have made many efforts to stick to a strict healthy diet but fail miserably most of the time. I will use this blog to keep a record of my diet, and also of my daily workouts. I am already very self motivated with my workouts, I am hoping this helps me keep my diet in check. I don't really have an amount of weight lost goal I am shooting for, I just want to look good with my shirt off.

This link sums up my diet issues pretty well : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N01v6zlcWuk

Hi, I'm Brittni

Hi, I'm Brittni, and I need to get fit! A little about myself and why I am here... I am a stay at home mommy of two wonderful little girls. Our first daughter, Jaeda, was born in June of 2009 and Kobie was born in August of 2011. Needless to say I have some baby weight to lose after 2 babies. I have gotten down close to my "pre-pregnancy" weight, but that number really doesn't mean anything. My body is carrying weight in all the wrong places! I would say I have a few things to "blame" my struggle to lose weight on...1.I am not very self-motivated (for long periods of time) 2. I have zero time to get in a GOOD work-out and cook good meals, and 3. I am an emotional eater who LOVES sugary treats!

As I blog, I will talk about all of these barriers that are holding me back from being the fit and healthy person I want to be... but I am hoping that writing this blog will help take care of #1 "motivation!"

I'm looking forward to the journey...
